How many years of plastic surgery training do your doctors have?
As with all countries, entrance into medical school is possible through the achievement of high rankings in official university entrance exams taken by well-educated students. After 6 years of basic medical education, those studying at medical school can opt to take specialist training for a further 4 or 5 years. In Turkey, in order to qualify for specialist training it is also necessary to be successful in the TUS examination which is organized nationwide. The specialist area of Cosmetic, Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery is one of the branches which requires the highest TUS grade.

Can Istanbul Surgical Arts support me to purchase tickets for my flights?
Yes. Istanbul Surgical Arts can arrange your flights for you. The cost for your flights will be calculated separately on your agreement and there will be a service fee included.
Are internal transfers included in my package?
All airport, hotel, and hospital transfers are made free of charge for the duration of your procedure and/or surgery. There are costs involved for additional transfer requests.
Where will I stay during my time in Istanbul?
Before you arrive, you can choose the hotel you would like to stay at from our list of agreed hotels. Apart from the hotels offered, we are happy to help you make a reservation at a hotel of your own choice.
What is included in the hotel accommodation?
All hotel accommodation planned by Istanbul Surgical Arts includes breakfast in the package. We can also inform you of restaurant alternatives for lunch and dinner, where you will be able to try traditional and regional delicacies.
How do I pay for my surgery?
You can pay by cash when you arrive in Turkey. Payment needs to be made before the surgery/procedure takes place. As part of our procedures, we are not able to carry out planned procedures or surgeries without full payment in advance.
How does Istanbul Surgical Arts choose which doctor they will work with?
Istanbul Surgical Arts, works with qualified and experienced experts who are both professional and ethical. For this reason, we have long-term collaboration with a team of specialist doctors.
Can I choose the timing of my surgery/procedure?
After you specify the dates that are suitable to you, we will plan the date and time of surgery together with our doctors and hospital. We will then make the relevant hospital appointment.
Where will my surgery take place?
Your procedures will be performed by leading and professional staff in the industry, will take place in hospitals and clinics which are specialized in this field of you procedure and are also in accordance with world standards. These hospitals and clinics are located in good neighborhoods of the city, are easily accessible and are close to our recommended hotels.
Information about the hospital or clinic where your procedure will be performed will be shared with you during the planning process.
Will I have a private hospital room?
Yes. During your stay in the hospital, you will have a private room to yourself with its own bathroom. The rooms are designed to provide accommodation for the comfort of your companion also.

Non-surgical treatments are carried out in clinics or hospitals that follow international hygiene standards and are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies.
Who will apply my non-surgical treatments?
As with surgical procedures, non-surgical treatments are performed by our specialists and doctors.
Which type of anesthesia will be used?
The type of anesthesia used for each surgery is distinct and specific to the procedure to be carried out. However, the type of anesthesia to be applied is determined after a physical examination is performed and after the anesthesiologist evaluates your medical reports and results.
How long do I have to stay?
Your stay will be arranged according to the planned procedure or surgery. How long you would like to stay in the city will also be factored into the length of your stay. Your doctor will tell you the minimum time you need to stay. We can plan your flight and accommodation by including any additional time that you may wish to spend in Turkey.
How will I be informed of the developments for the planning of my procedure?
We are in constant communication with you over the phone, e-mail or WhatsApp channel to share all the details and developments for your planned procedure. We also provide you with all the details about your flight, accommodation, surgery/procedure plan and Patient Consultant information via an online, secure portal that we have designed for our guests.
Are flights and accommodation planned by Istanbul Surgical Arts?
After the date of the surgery is decided and the hospital reservation is made, the reservation with Istanbul Surgical Arts contracted hotels, and if desired your flight booking will be organised through Istanbul Surgical Arts. There will be an additional service fee charged for reservations and flight tickets that are requested.
You can choose to stay at a hotel of our own choice. In such cases, accommodation costs are not included in the price quoted by Istanbul Surgical Arts.

Will I need a visa to visit Turkey?

Travel insurance is not compulsory but is recommended.
Do I need to get any tests before traveling?
There is no need to have any medical tests done before traveling. All your tests will be organised and performed before your surgery takes place and after your arrival in Turkey. We expect you to share full details of any previous illnesses, surgeries, hereditary diseases and medications that you regularly use. You can access your health records, on our secure online system designed specifically for our Istanbul Surgical Arts guests.
What kind of preparations do I have to make before traveling to Turkey?
Your Patient Consultant will provide you with some documentation to inform you about the issues you must consider before and during your trip to Turkey. We are happy to assist you if you have additional queries.
Do I need someone to accompany me during my trip?
Depending on what your procedure will be, the duration of your stay in hospital and your needs may vary. When we plan the details of your stay and your surgery, we will share with you information of our recommendations regarding a companion for your visit. In the absence of a companion, ISSA Patient Consultants will be happy to assist you in the support of your needs.
How do I plan my companion's flight and accommodation?
If you share your companion's details before your stay, Istanbul Surgical Arts can assist you in the planning for both you and your companion. The related service fee will be added to the cost.
Who can I call if I have a question during my stay?
You can reach your ISSA Patient Consultant, who will give you individual and specialised attention, and be available on their mobile phone 24 hours of the day, 7 days a week.
Who will pick me up from the airport ?
When you arrive at the airport, our Istanbul Surgical Arts Patient Consultant will welcome you at the airport with a sign with our company name and logo. Your name will be clearly displayed on the sign. You will then be transferred to the hotel or the hospital with your own private vehicle together with your Patient Consultant.
Based on your needs, the length of your stay, and the surgery/procedure that you will have, you may need to visit the hospital to complete any medical tests and to have your pre-operative consultation before you arrive at your hotel. Your first stop after arriving at the airport will be determined according to the plan shared with you before your trip.
What is a Pre-Op Consultation?
As mentioned previously, your first meeting with our specialist doctors takes place virtually in an online consultation, which is free of charge.
During the pre-op consultation phase, you will have your first face-to-face examination with your doctor prior to the surgery. During the consultation, the specialist will make an assessment of your general health condition, discuss with you the surgery to take place and go over the details discussed during the free consultation. The doctor will answer any questions you may have, and share with you all the details that you require.
What is the Pre-Test?
Pre-test is the term used to describe the period of time that medical tests that are considered necessary are carried out prior to the surgery. Pre-Tests include blood tests and, if necessary, a chest X-ray and ECG. It is possible to carry out the Pre-Tests the day prior to, or the day of surgery.
The test results will be evaluated by the doctor who will perform the surgery and your anesthesiologist, so that final surgery planning can be completed.
Will Istanbul Surgical Arts support me during the Pre-Op consultation and the Pre-Test?

The duration of the treatment/surgery will vary according to the procedure to be performed and your doctor will inform you these details before the surgery.
Will the procedure require local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia?

Will I require an overnight stay or more in hospital?
The length of hospital stay varies for each surgery. The recommended time for the length of hospital stay will be determined during the online consultation with your specialist doctor before you arrive; will depend on your specific procedure and your personal needs. Your trip will be planned in light of these details and information.
Will the plastic surgery procedure I have leave a scar?
The significance or visibility of surgery incisions will vary according to the procedure carried out, the method used, the area of the incision and the individual themselves. Your specialist will provide you with detailed information about what sort of scar will remain following the surgery, how well the scar will heal, and how visible the scar will or will not be. Based on years of experience, our doctors place incisions in areas which have the least visibility and result in minimum scarring.
Who will be assisting during the surgery? What are their qualifications?
All operations and treatments are performed by our specialized doctors. Anesthesia is applied and performed by specialist anesthesiologists. During all surgeries, the nurses and technicians who assist our doctors have graduated from relevant departments of universities and vocational schools.

What kind of after-care program will I need during my hospital stay?
After the surgery/treatment, experienced Istanbul Surgical Arts nurses will be at your disposal and will provide you with all the necessary follow-up care and attention during your recuperation period.
Can I get in contact with my doctor after surgery?
Following the surgery, our specialist doctors visit our patients, which we think is a very important part of the process. The specialist visits you to check on your situation and to give you information about the surgery that was performed. If necessary, the doctor will check in on you again during the course of the day. If you need any medication, the medication and/or ointments you need will be promptly provided by Istanbul Surgical Arts.
During the time you are in hospital, your nurse will give your doctor regular information about your general health condition. You will meet your doctor again the day following your surgery for your Post-Op visit. Depending on the type of procedure you had performed and your general condition the Post-Op visit is performed before you are discharged from the hospital or the day after discharge.
Will Istanbul Surgical Arts provide my transfer from the hospital to the hotel?
Yes. With your doctor's consent, you will be transferred to the hotel with a private vehicle after you are discharged from the hospital.
What is a Post-Op Visit?
Depending on the type of procedure you had performed and your general condition the Post-Op visit is performed before you are discharged from the hospital or the day discharge. During the Post-Op visit your doctor will examine the areas where the surgery was performed and provide any necessary follow-up care. The follow-up care provided will vary according to the procedure carried out. For example, if you have undergone nose surgery, your nose will be examined and the nasal packing will be removed. If you had breast surgery, your doctor will examine your breasts and re-apply dressings.
In the post-op visit, your doctor will share with you steps you will need to follow and be aware of during the healing process. There will also be an opportunity to get information about your questions or concerns.
When can I resume normal activities and exercise?
The type of physical activities that you can perform during the recovery process varies according to the procedure you had. For example, there is much less time involved in returning to exercise after nose surgery, than there is after a tummy tuck. Your specialist will give you the necessary information about your return to daily activities according to your situation and your operation.
Can I reach you when I need assistance during my stay at the hotel?
Yes. During this time, you can communicate directly with your doctor regarding your medical concerns and you can contact Istanbul Surgical Arts regarding all other matters.
Will I be able to travel after my treatment/surgery?
When planning your trip, you will be able to travel on the date recommended by Istanbul Surgical Arts, and after final approval has been obtained from your doctor to travel. Your doctor will advise you about anything that you need to be careful about while travelling.
