Thighs that have a sagging or loose appearance can prevent you from living life the way that you want to. These concerns may lead you to consider surgery to improve the thigh area. Excessive or frequent weight loss and gain, decreased skin elasticity with age or genetics, can cause sagging in the upper and inner leg area. If the sagging affects one's quality of life, thigh lift may be a solution.

Thigh Lift - Surgery Overview
Excess skin is removed from the inner part of thigh using incisions around the groin and upper leg. The skin edges are closed using stitches beneath the skin once the desired tension is achieved.
Am I a Suitable Candidate for the Thigh Lift Procedure?
• Excess or saggy thigh skin can often lead to discomfort when moving or walking, and has an unsightly appearance. If the appearance of your thighs cannot be rectified through a diet and exercise programme, then Thigh Lift surgery may be a good option for you. • If you are planning on having the Thigh Lift procedure, you should be aware that although cosmetic sutures will be used, you will still have scarring following the surgery. If you have minimal sagging or loose skin, regardless of how well the surgery is performed, you should consider the long term dissatisfaction that may be caused by the inevitable scarring that will remain after the surgery. Here at Istanbul Surgical Arts, patients who do go ahead with the surgery are very well satisfied with the results and feel that the procedure is worth the traces left behind by the surgery. • If you have experienced intensive weight loss through surgery such as gastric bypass or gastric sleeve gastrectomy you should wait a while before opting for the Thigh Lift procedure. If the Thigh Lift procedure is conducted as weight loss continues the ideal tension obtained during the surgery may be lost. Once your weight is stabilised, and you have consulted your weight loss surgery surgeon, you can speak to your plastic surgeon specialist about the Thigh Lift procedure.
Will I Have Scarring After the Thigh Lift Surgery?
You should be aware that although cosmetic sutures will be used, you will still have permanent scarring following the Thigh Lift surgery. The type of surgery to be used will determine the placement, length and number of incisions to be made. The type of surgery will be decided by the amount of excess skin, and sagginess of the thigh. The results of the Thigh Lift surgery on healthy individuals are pleasing, and the positive effect of the surgery outweighs any dissatisfaction with scarring.

If your consultation is a virtual meeting over the internet, you will need to share all the information that the doctor needs in order for him to make an informed evaluation.

What Should I be Aware of Before Thigh Lift Procedure?
