There are two basic methods used in operative Chin Augmentation methods. One of these is the "autologous fat graft" method in which the patient's fat is used to increase the volume in the chin and jawline. The second is the placement of implants manufactured specifically for the chin and jawline.
In the application of autologous fat graft, the patient’s fat is removed by liposuction from an appropriate area of the body under operating room conditions and this fat is injected into the chin area. It is a comfortable operation that does not require hospitalization. After resting for a few hours at the hospital, you can go to home and return to your normal daily routines the following day.
There are different types of prepared chin implants available for this procedure. Porous implants and silicone-based implants are the most preferred implant types, both of which are sponge-like and resemble bone. However, silicone chin implants are preferred because they are easily accepted by the body and can be easily placed in the region.
