What is the PRP Boost Laser? What are its Advantages?

PRP Boost Laser is the combination of PRP with Fractional Erbium Laser. PRP is one of the most effective methods of skin rejuvenation which is performed by using your own blood.
In the PRP Boost Fractional Laser treatment PRP is performed after the Fractional Erbium Laser application. The combination of these two methods, whose mechanisms of action are similar, increases dramatically the end result. PRP Boost Laser is a complete "Natural Renewal Treatment". Both methods trigger natural regeneration processes in our bodies. Both methods trigger the natural regeneration processes in our bodies.
The Fractional Erbium Laser application provides satisfactory results in its own right, however with the addition and combination of PRP treatment a much more effective rejuvenation is achieved. In addition, when PRP is combined with Fractional Erbium Laser treatment post-laser redness is significantly reduced and the healing process is accelerated.

How is the PRP Boost Laser Applied?

Generally and according to the aim of the treatment, the application is performed once a month for 2 to 4 sessions.
Firstly, about 10 to 20 ml of blood is taken from your arm and the blood is placed in a centrifuge using in special tubes or kits to create the PRP. After cleansing your face with a disinfectant, local anesthetic creams are applied to provide some anesthetic relief. The Fractional Erbium Laser is applied, which lasts about 10-15 minutes. The laser treatment is applied to the whole face, and neck area if necessary.
Immediately after the laser has been thoroughly applied, the pre-prepared PRP is applied to your skin. No injection is required as in the standard PRP application. Fractional Erbium laser creates tiny holes in your skin, so the PRP is applied to the through massage until the desired level of absorption is achieved. Afterwards, the the skin is massaged for approximately 15-20 minutes with various relaxing creams and pomades.
A stinging, burning sensation which is easily tolerated can be felt during the application. Thanks to the special cooler used in the process, the burning and stinging feeling is reduced as much as possible. You will not feel any pain or burning once the massage is completed.

The Natural Renewal Movement
In fact, the positive changes that occur in the skin caused by the Fractional Erbium Laser application are completely natural, because our body has entered the wound healing process. The Fractional Erbium Laser’s role is to simply trigger this process.

In addition to improving skin quality, acne scars and other scars are also improved through the wound healing process triggered by Fractional Erbium Laser. The "remodeling" part of the healing process allows the existing tissue to react positively to the treatment. That is why the Fractional Erbium Laser Treatment is the "Natural Renewal Movement" that you initiate in your skin.

Am I an Appropriate Candidate for PRP Boost Laser Treatment?

Anyone who is healthy, and over the age of 18 can have the PRP Boost Laser treatment. If you are pregnant, have certain types of skin ailments or other systemic diseases, PRP Boost Laser will not be suitable for you. Your doctor will be able to provide you with more information and a proper evaluation for treatment after listening to your medical history and examining your skin.

What Can I Expect at My First Doctor's Consultation?

Your specialist will ask you to provide information about your medical history and also listen to your expectations for the procedure. He will conduct a thorough examination to tell you the benefits of PRP Boost Laser treatment. After the initial discussion, it will be possible to move forward with the procedure, as there is no prior preparation needed.

What Should I be Mindful of Prior to My PRP Boost Laser Session?

Our team will prepare your skin thoroughly before the laser session begins. Something you should especially be aware of if you want to get the PRP Boost Laser treatment, is that you should avoid having the laser application during the summer season. Your skin will be sensitive after the treatment, and you will therefore need to avoid the damaging effects of intense sunlight. Even if you use sunscreen after the procedure, the sun's rays can affect the desired results of the treatment negatively and cause pigmentation problems on your skin. For this reason, the most appropriate months for Fractional Erbium Laser application is the time period that runs from the beginning of October to the end of May.
Our specialist doctors who work at Istanbul Surgical Arts do not apply Fractional Erbium Laser treatments in the summer to ensure the healthy healing of the skin and to ensure the best possible result for your skin.

What Can I Expect Following After the PRP Boost Laser Application?

The issues of greatest concern in laser applications, are the possibility of burns and marks on the skin that can be permanent. The most important advantage of Fractional Erbium Lasers is that they have a near-zero risk for burns or marks to be caused to the skin. Fractional Erbium Lasers with FDA approved devices applied by a qualified physician; is the most reliable laser application, with fewer risks of burns and other unwanted marks caused to the skin.
For this reason, you will not experience any problems following the application of the PRP Boost Laser, except for some redness and a slight burning sensation on your skin. The burning sensation disappears within a few hours, and the redness subsides within 24-48 hours. Our working clients who have their treatment on a Friday afternoon can easily return to work on Monday.
The specialist doctor will recommend creams or pomades to ensure your comfort following the treatment session.

When will I See the Results of the PRP Boost Laser Treatment?

You will see that your skin is brighter, healthier, and more hydrated after the first session of the PRP Boost Laser session. Treatments are usually planned once a month for 2 to 4 sessions in total. This procedure is based on the principle of wound healing and this process is usually deemed completed in about 6 months. Once the 2 to 4 sessions that are planned are completed, you will continue to see ever-improving results over the following months.
A Little About the Technology
Since the introduction of laser technologies into the field of medicine, they have become an indispensable part of the cosmetic industry. They are used in a wide range of areas ranging from epilation, removal of pigmentation, the treatment of small or superficial varicose veins to facial rejuvenation.

Erbium laser technology is one of the latest technologies available. The Erbium YAG Laser technology, typically emits light with a wavelength of 2940 nanometer, which is infrared light. With the advancement of technology, the erbium laser fractional headers, have superior effects in terms of comfort and effect when compared to alternatives.
A Little About the Technology

How Does Laser Therapy Aid Skin Rejuvenation?

When any wound goes through the process of healing in our body, a substance called collagen is synthesized. Collagen allows for the rejuvenation and repair of the injured skin. The working principle of laser technology is based on the benefit of the body's wound healing mechanism.
The aim of laser applications is to temporarily irritate the skin in order to trigger new collagen synthesis. Following the laser application, the body synthesizes collagen to repair the irritated area; in the process new veins are developed and much rejuvenation occurs in the surrounding area. Therefore, there is visible improvement in the quality, colour, and radiance of the skin.
However, not every laser technology is the same, there are significant differences between different technologies. Serious issues can be experienced with other laser technologies such as unwanted scarring, and discomfort during and after the procedure.
Such effects are not expected with the FDA approved Fractional Erbium Laser. Our cosmetic surgery specialists have realised thousands of applications over many years and have not experienced any negative effects. At Istanbul Surgical Arts, our laser of choice is the Fractional Erbium Laser.

How Does the Fractional Erbium Laser Work?

During the Fractional Erbium laser application, tiny tunnels, which do not leave any permanent marks on the skin, are opened up in a controlled manner. Each of these tunnels, extend through to the dermis level where blood vessels and collagen lay; and this is where small irritations are made. With this effect, the formation of new blood vessels and collagen synthesis is initiated and the rejuvenation and remodelling stages trigger the wound healing process.
This process, initiated by laser therapy, provides a visible improvement in the quality, color and radiance of the entire skin. Within a few minutes of the laser application, the small tunnels created disappear and the associated redness subsides within 24-36 hours.

Are Laser applications safe?

Yes; as long as it is conducted by specialist doctors in the field with devices that have international accreditation. At Istanbul Surgical Arts, we are sensitive about always providing our clients with health care within an ethical context. Since your peace of mind and safety is our first priority we ensure that the devices and products we use are FDA approved.
At Istanbul Surgical Arts, we prefer to use the Fractional Erbium Laser both in terms of efficiency and comfort, and work only with FDA approved devices. For this reason, you can have peace of mind about the safety of our laser therapy applications.

There are Lots of Different Laser Technologies. Which One Should I Choose?

There are many different types of lasers according to the purpose it will be used for. Two types of technologies are used for skin rejuvenation and tightening, namely Carbon Dioxide and Erbium lasers. Both technologies essentially act in the same way, the water evaporates in the region where the laser beam is applied. However, laser technologies show significant differences in terms of efficiency and patient comfort. You may have difficulty obtaining accurate information about this difference.
Sometimes you will see that the term "Fractional" before each of the methods. "Fractional" refers to the "head fitting" used in the laser applications. The fractional head fitting filters the laser and focuses the light to the specific area the shot is being made, not to the entire skin surface.
The fact that the carbon dioxide or the Erbium laser is "fractional" means that the cuticle on the skin is formed regularly and by the opening of micro-holes. That is, fractional lasers provide a controlled injury. In "non-fractional" classical applications, the targeted skin region is removed by the shot made from the center. In "non-fractional" classical applications, only a limited depth can be avoided and the healing period takes a long time. For this reason, classical Erbium or classical Carbon Dioxide Laser technologies are no longer preferred in face rejuvenation applications. They are only used for special cases.

Carbon Dioxide Laser

Carbon Dioxide lasers are the first technologies used in the cosmetic field, however when applied with the fractional header, they have significant disadvantages. Because carbon dioxide lasers vaporize the water on the skin, it creates a high level of heat in the application area. For this reason, Fractional Carbon Dioxide Laser applications create a slight burning effect in a 1 cm diameter around the applied shot. As a result, even if the laser head is "fractional", the carbon dioxide laser therapy creates severe scaling, pain and swelling for up to 2 weeks on the face after application. During the recovery period, work and social life may also have to be interrupted.

Fractional Erbium Lasers

Fractional Erbium Lasers, unlike other lasers, provide a minimum increase in temperature in the application area. Because the heat increase is minimal, there is no burning effect around the tunnels that are intended to be opened, no crusting after the process, no intense swelling, only some redness that will last 24-48 hours. Additionally, the pain felt during the process is much less in comparison. This makes it possible to apply a deeper application on the skin.
In summary, the Fractional Erbium Laser treatment does not cause scarring, scaling, significant swelling or pain. The resulting redness subsides within 24-48 hours. There is no permanent marking or scarring caused. Our working clients are able to have the therapy applied on Friday afternoon and go back to work on Monday morning with ease.
The main reasons for opting for the FDA approved Fractional Erbium Laser at Istanbul Surgical Arts are; less pain than other lasers during the application, no side effects except for 1 to 2 days post-procedure redness, shortened recovery time and of course a high level of efficiency.

How Does the Fractional Erbium Laser Achieve a More Youthful Skin?

Negative factors, such as stress, sun, chemicals, our genetic heritage and, of course, the natural changes that occur with age, reduce the potential for our skin to regenerate itself and consequently reduce the skin's structural support and elasticity, these primarily being collagen fibers. The pores in our skin become more visible, and our skin may become dryer, thinner, wrinkle and unfortunately begin to sag to varying degrees.

The Secret to Renewal: The Wound Healing Mechanism

The ability to reproduce the collagen in our skin is somewhat possible at any age. However, whatever your age the use of cosmetic products to produce collagen are insufficient to produce visible result. In fact, there is only one natural way in which collagen can be produced intensely at any age level: wound healing.
When there is an injury to our skin, along with bleeding to different degrees in this area, intensive blood vessel formation in the wound area, supportive cell transfer and intensive collagen production in the area begins. Therefore, the "Wound Healing" process has begun.
Intensive collagen synthesis provides healing in the wound. Wound healing is complete after the newly formed tissue goes through a renewing phase called "remodelling". Apart from the growth periods experienced by infants and children, the only process in which collagen is naturally and intensively produced then renewed with the "remodeling" phase is during the wound healing process. Cosmetics or alternative therapies can not produce collagen production and remodeling to this degree.
Here the Fractional Erbium Laser triggers this process in a real sense. The Fractional Erbium Laser open up micro-holes that leave no permanent marks on the skin. Depending on the clients skin type and needs micro-sized tunnels at 25 microns that open up to a depth of 1.5 mm are created. As a result, intense collagen production is initiated and remodeling begins on the skin, which in turn begins the renewal process of the skin.

Can Acne Scars be Treated Through Fractional Erbium Laser?

Yes, it is possible for the Fractional Erbium Laser to treat acne scars in addition to skin rejuvenation treatments. It is even possible to erase sunspots.
It is possible for undesirable scars from previous surgeries or traces remaining after sutured interventions to be improved through Fractional Erbium Laser technology.
Acne scars and scars for wounds can also be reduced through the use of the Fractional Erbium Laser therapy which triggers the wound healing process. The "remodelling" part of the healing process allows the existing tissue to be positively affected also.

Can I Get Rid of My Sunspots through Laser Treatment?

Yes. Fractional Erbium Treatment of sunspots with laser technology is possible. Fractional Erbium laser treatment results in a wound healing process, and as a result the quality of your skin improves during the renewal process that occurs. This reduces the sunspots that cause shadows on the skin.
In addition to the improved skin quality after the procedure, you will have a brighter and more radiant appearance with a positive change in the pigmentation of your sunspots.

Can Surgery Scarring be Reduced through Laser Treatment?

Yes. Scarring caused by previous surgeries or other sutured interventions can be improved with Fractional Erbium Laser technology.
Acne scars and other scars are also used to improved through the wound healing process triggered by the Fractional Erbium Laser. The "remodelling" part of the healing process allows the existing tissue to be positively affected also.

Can the Fractional Erbium Laser Treatment be Done in All Seasons?

If you would like to have the Fractional Erbium Laser treatment, you will need to avoid planning this for the summer season.
